hey guys, i need help figuring out what to replace on my 96 Bronco. I drove my truck today and decided to use the AC (it's RARELY used). It did nothing but blow hot air for about 15 minutes. Got it home and started diagnosing. First thing I noticed, the clutch will not engage. I can turn it but it's real tight. think this is just the clutch or the whole compressor? any helpers???
also for what it's worth, i'm a bit confused on how to jump the connectors on the pressure switch. do you connect the terminals on the switch itself or on the plug/harness with a jumper wire???????

You can check the Clutch by disconnecting the wire to it and putting it to 12V, it should "lock in".
That Prooves the unit.
If it is out of gas it will also not turn on, as the Gas lubricates the bearings, so it has a fail safe.
all righty guys! jumped the harness on the acumulator and the clutch started spinning! replaced the switch and air is icy cold!!!! thak you guys so much for your help!!!!
