Adjusting steering stops?

I've seen articles on how to adjust steering stops on Jeeps if your tires rub on the leaf springs. Are Super Duties similar? Is it just a simple washer on the bolt process like on Jeeps or is there more to it on a heavy truck like ours? Also, is there any negative to doing this?

Thanks

That looks pretty simple but I think that you should use grade 8 hex head bolts to start with. The guy said that he changed to the hex head bolts from the socket head cap screws pictured. I would be too worried that, when you go to full lock, you might mushroom the heads. Then you would have a little trouble getting an allen wrench in there if you decided to take them out. Just my $.02

Yep, I switched out to hex head bolts and spaced them out with washers since then.

At the time I didn't have a 1/4-20 short enough on hand with a hex head.

So how much did you end up limiting your steering (how much did the bolt head and washers add up to) and how much did your tires hit before? Do you even notice the greater turning radius?

Never measured how much....it's the bolt head and two washers. I'm running 38/15.50R20s on 20x10s.

The tires hit bad if the stops were stock (enough to tear pieces of the lugs off of my first set of tires)

Do I notice the greater turning......yes, especially since I drive stock trucks all day long.
