Exclamation Brake Issues

Hey guys, I haven't been around the forums in a while do to complete insanity between work and personal issues... however I hope you guys can help clear some thing up for me.

The bolts that hold my rear calipers to the mounts keep "disappearing" Until last night I figured maybe I just had ******* bolts or my lock washers I put on were actually helping them back out... whatever. I have replaced them 3 times and am wondering, in all reality, how often to brake caliper bolts back themselves out? I have never actually heard of this before.

This morning, I went out to the truck to head off to work and my brake pedal sunk to the floor. Much to my chagrin, someone decided it would be cool to cut my flexible brake lines leading up to the rear calipers.

What would you guys do in this situation aside from hiding in the window all night with a shotgun? Police report for vandalism? I really don't know how to interpret and/ or handle this?

I mean, brake lines don't shear themselves, right?

Well that's certainly weird...sounds like you made a friend recently maybe? Some has a bone to pick with you or something. What ever the reason, cutting a brake line anyone's vehicle, let alone a 8k truck, is not too smart. That's serious crap. I would never go outside the law (whistle, shuffle feet...) but I agree knowing who's pulling that crap would be, ummm, helpful. Then you can choose your path.

Path 1, call the cops.

Path 2, give him a size 12 in the twig and berries, buy a new brake line, and enjoy life knowing he's now neutered.

Yeah these new friends would be the unemployed drug dealers across the street... I am currently living on GR's west side right off of Fulton (the NS dividing line). If it's not them it's the ex's new man friend... either way castration is a viable option

WOW!!! I would try to stay up at night and see who it is....take pics (if possible), do the police report....if it continues....well.....I don't know what I would do....would be pretty serious though....I must admit...I like the size 12 in the twig & berries thing....multiple times.....

that is crazy... police report will help when the day comes and you get a hold of the a**holes and put a beating on them. cops might look the other way for an on going issue like this one...
