Well, actually, only really one main question that I can think of right now but can you have an overboost annihilator burned into the DP tuner?
I am working up the funds for one right now. I think I am going to go with the 40 tow, 60 tow, 80 econo, 120 race, and 140 agreessive. Anything else I should consider?
Nic .. you might want to consider the high idle as well .. I had it put on mine. I got the 60tow but not the 40tow, otherwise the same. No the overboost can't be burned on - the annihilator has to be added on as a separate unit. Now I've run mine pretty hard and have yet to trip and SES light...

STOCK & No-Start
I put her in to STOCK when I take her for an oil change
I put her in No-Start when I'm gone for a couple days, at the airport, etc.
high idle will bump your idle speed from 700's to 1200 rpm. If you're sitting for long periods idling, the engine can "wet stack" which is that the engine is actually too cool to burn all of the fuel and it can build up. Another thing is just a little increased RPM helps with amperage loads for electrical features. If i'm using my air system, and my compressor is running, i bump the high idle because my air compressor draws 60 amps. Just a handy feature on occasion and a cheap file. And you won't have to send it back to re-burn if you decide you want it later.
yes, of course i will get stock, but i do not see a need for no start
what exactly is the point of high idle and how much is the annihilator?
THe high IDLE is great for cooling the truck down (inside) on these 100+ day's here is M.S. Its also great for warming up the truck on those cold mornings! NOt that we have that many cold morning's but I like the high idle.
Rich
so for stock, high idle, 40 tow, 60 tow, 80 econo, 120 race and 140 agressive with the digital tuner i can expect to pay around 400-450 ? sorry i don't have the time at work to figure it out exactly but im on a tight budget
I got stock, high idle, 60tow, 80 econo, 120 race and 140 agressive (smoke) with the F5 switch for 454.90 delivered to my door. Question, why do you want both 40 and 60 tow ???
Don't get the 40tow unless you pull a huge trailer, you don't need it. I only really ever used 60t, 80econo ( tell him to take out the "stock fueling tip-in" on that program , it then changes the "econo" to more of a "hybrid-tow". I can't feel much of a difference between 120 and 80, but a stock truck can't really take full advantage of a 140 tune. But now that i can, wow it's insane for a stock injectored truck.
Nothing wrong with being a newbie. We all were at some point or another. I am still learning a ton.
You should have gauges at least if you are going to run hot tunes like that. Also reccomended are an open intake of some type and a 4" (at least) exhaust. There's also tranny upgrades to think about.
I went with the 40tow based on Diane's recommendations: I live in CO at 5000' feet and tow up and over 10,000' elevations. I *might* have been OK with the 60tow, but I trust the experts and went with the 40.
I'm thinking:
Stock - I think I would need this to pass emissions?
High Idle (2,000 rpm?) - I haul 2 kids around and work on the laptop in the truck on occasion.
80T - I pull a 27 foot travel travel that is 6k unloaded.
80 HP econo - daily driving
I will get a nice intake but doubt I will put a bigger exhaust system. Should I get the 120 just for giggles and impressing people I take to lunch?

and before you go crazy get trans and pyrometer gauges, since you said you going to use stock exhaust.....
get :
stock
high idle 1200 rpm. no need for 2000
40t
80 econo
120 race - its always good to impress people
