Hi SkyDan, I feel the same way about the lighter weight oil as well, I am currently running 5W20 in my V-10, do you think this thing might quiet down if I put some 5W30 Synthetic in it?

Just an update, I got my truck back from the Dealer yesterday investigating the cold start knock...well low and behold they say its normal for these engines to rattle and knock like mine does, who would have guessed?:-staun
The field service engineer is supposed to be the next individual that checks out my truck so we shall see what his findings are.

Cold Start Knock
My 1999 F250 V10 has Piston Slap that Ford says there is not a fix..Does anyone have any TSB numbers for this Piston Slap problem. It is my belief that Ford knows they have a defective product but will not acknowledge it because of the cost of repairs. I have seen some folks say Ford has replaced engines for this problem. Has anyone got Ford to replace a Piston Slap Engine out of warranty.???
If so, how did you do it....I need the engine replaced real bad...48,000 miles, what a shame...Beautiful Truck as long as you don't listen to the engine when it's cold!!!!
