97 4.2 timing cover

I've got a 97 F150,AUTO,LWB,XL,4.2...it just turned 75K,no problems, yet; how can i tell if the front timing cover gasket has been replaced? I dont know the previous owner due to buying it at a FORD dealership, and i'm hearing horror stories about antifreeze seeping past the timing gasket.Ive flushed mine and the level has not dropped. Also,i recommend using Motorcraft oil filters on this motor;any other filter causes clatter at start up,but i noticed the 400S i use prevents this.
