Well, I still will have external line filters to protect the carb and fuel pump. lt'll keep large trash from blocking the fuel line on the way, I guess. What remained of the original looked as fine a screen as I have in my regular cartridge type, though it could have been more course.
Based on your answer and since the original design called for it, I'll put something there. Could I use a regular fuel filter? Or maybe modify a clear plastic inline filter by cutting a hole and replace the paper media with stainless scrub pad or something?
Didn't like the idea using a regular fuel filter in the tank cause if it clogged it'd be hard to replace easily though I don't know if they filter to a greater micron degree or not.
