P1832 Transmission transfer case differential lock-up solenoid circuit failure
P1876 Transmission transfer case 2-wheel drive solenoid circuit failure
Maybe a question for Alan but anyone else would be appreciated. I am wondering if when this code shows up or codes like this, when they are read and or cleared does this mean the problem only happened once or is still a problem. My 4wheel drive works fine, actually i havent tried 4low in a long time but the 4 high works. Again any knowledge appreciated thx FTEs
not being used for so long..things might of went into gear kind of hard and set a code....clear the code..lock in 4x4 again then back out and see if the code comes back...
I wish i had the tech toys to do it, my buddy that works at the stealership pulled it. After he cleared it he did diagnostics again and it still showed up but i didnt put in 4wheel inbetween that if thats what your saying? Is that the only way to tell if there is still an issue? He said trace all the wires down and look for fraying etc. but the problem is electrical im assuming, becasue the solenoid is electricaly actuated?
i all most think some people said they had problem with switch and had to replace them..mine is a lever on the floor so i am not sure...some one will chime in soon that will be better help...
Thx for your input ron much appreciated I do know my switches light goes in and out, but im assuming there is a bulb backlighting it and its not internal that may be the issue if its an internal light, maybe the harness or switch is on the fritz?
P1876 is the code i had when i had to replace my vac solenoid. My 4x4 would engage, but only for a short time, then it would lose vac and i would lose 4x4.It would also defalt my blower to the defrost position.
The vac selonoid? Is that whats behind the glove box or something on the transfer case? I dont have a vacuum leak which the symptoms are the defrost mode of the vacuum system, and when im in 4wheel it stays there. My main concern aside from maybe the switch is, if you clear this code and it shows back up is it something that could somehow stay on the module even if everything works right?
So i checked the solenoid or the only thing on the transfer case that looks like a solenoid, on the bottom inbetween the crossmember and the t case. The wires both have a scuff mark on them just a little, the conductors inside are good. So i unplugged the connector and cycled the key to make sure that if there is a problem the 4x4 light would come on or blink or something with it unhooked and it SURE AS S@#$ did. When the connector was off the 4x4 light stayed on, so then i hooked it back up. And turned the truck back on and now the darn light wont go off and i think its overriding my switch not allowing me to put it in 4x4, i cant feel the front binding up like it does in 4x4 high. SO now what should i do??? Help....
did you plug that back in with the key on?? if so...try to diconect the battery for a few minutes then plug it back in..see if that light go's out...did you try what green duelly said..when heat is on floor...switch the 4x4 on wait a few minutes and see if the heat starts to blow out the defrost while still set on heat...
No i unhooked it with the key off, then ran it for a few, then turned it off then hooked it back up? What order do you think might clear the light? Unhook connector with truck on, then unhook battery and connect connector then reattach battery?
I do have a vacuum leak when i run the hubs in auto because my new airconditioner mod hose setup isnt holding up well, or at least i think thats the culprit. Running the hubs in lock should work no?
if you are loosing vac..then that's why it is throwing a code..put things back together..fix that vac leak..get the code cleared then try it again..do every thing with key off...in your pocket is better if you have a son that likes to help lol.....
