Not sure if anyone else has been experiencing your center console(between seats) has been shaking and anything that might be in it makes all types of noise. The only shake that I feel is when I appy the brakes real hard. But the console seems to shake all the time. Any suggestions will be helpful thanks jimster
Mine dosen't do it , but I removed the coin & cd holder that comes in it. Maybe that could make the noise. If that is not it have you checked the bolts holding it to the floor?
I don't have it either, but check you console bolts and then your body mounts. Body mounts isolate the cab from frame and driveline vibrations. Your console is bolt to the floor but has little else to stabilize it, so any vibration coming up from the floor is exaggerated the further up it goes.
I have this shake also, and if you're not resting your arm on it, it squeaks and rattles on the highway. Mine is an '05 F350 Crew Cab. I've pulled everything apart, and it's all as tight as can be. I'm actually going to put a tie down strap though the console and under the seat to tighten it down and stop the annoying squeak. Worst part is my 2000 had the same console but didn't have this problem...
I never noticed before, but I too have the sqweek and rattle in my center console. I took the direct approach to stopping the annoying noise, I turned up the stereo. It seemed to work but I'll stay vigilant in my pursuit of trivial malfunctions. Besides, it usually only happens when I'm driving too fast on unimproved roads.
I'll say "sorry" now for my polically incorrect response. I was PUI (posting under the influence).
I had the same problem- hitting the brakes was like riding a bucking bronco! The front rotors are warped. Replace front rotors and no more vibarations.
