Hey guys I am about to mount a Cobra 29 in my truck but I don't know where to place it. I have a brake box under the cubby hole. I have captain chairs in my truck and I really don't want to cover up my bottom space in my console. I'd love to see pictures of everyones mounts. Thanks guys!
I mounted mine on the ceiling between the sun visors above the rear view mirror. I don't have any pics handy but can get you some tomorrow if your interested. I've got the captains chairs, 6-speed & brake box so I didn't want it down low either. Plus it's easier to hear up high.
I've got mine mounted directly under the cubby hole on the dash. My brake controller was mounted there but I moved it over towards the middle and more under the dash to give room for the CB. With them being captain's seats it takes any possibility of someone sitting in the middle and kicking it out of the question. If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would.
Jdecker, is it possible to mount the CB to the dash where the brake controller is now, and then double-side tape the brake controller to the bottom or side of the CB box?
i mounted mine right to the front of the cubby between the seats..i have an auto trans..i can read it ,see it, and adjust it very well..drilled a small hole through the floor under the cubby for all the wires to run under the truck..sorry no pic's
I wanted to put mine on the ceiling between the visors but the bracket that they supplied with mine - no way would it reach the frame of the ceiling and still allow the radio to hang level.
No room below in the center because I have a six speed.
So I put it on the dashboard redneck style.
Thank ya! I do believe thats where I will mount mine just move my brake box over. I think I am just gonna mount some dual fiber glass Antennas on the tool box. I like the redneck style Kwik but I see enough of that on the superduties at work.
No kris can't ductape it then I would be turning into Gene :-p
