New forum addition
Now about my truck. I have a 1999 F350 4x4 CC SB Auto. Owned it for about 2 years now and having it as a replacement for my '95 F150 (RIP) 4.9 4x4.
I've made a bunch of modifications in that time such as a TB spacer (worthless), Headers (near worthless), Diablosport Predator (absolutely a "must have") 3" Flowmaster Cat-back, 6" lift and y-pipe replaced with better flowing unit.
Mainly I've been playing with the predator, have found the v10s sweet spots for timing and trans shifting/pressure. Currently messing with fuel injector slopes and WOT fuel settings. Those of you that own the predator, I have a custom tune for you to try.
If you are running 87 octane fuel, this tune works leaps and bounds. Modify the original 87 performance tune by doing the following, Set your global timing to +4 and your 1k-3k advance to +3, set 3.5-6k to +4. set all trans pressures to 40%, increase shift rpm two clicks up from the initial settings, set WOT shift rpm to two clicks above. in WOT fuel lean the 3k-6k mixture +2 clicks. do the same for 1k-2.5k. I have gotten 14-16 MPG (combined) and 10-11 MPG towing 8000lb TT 60-68MPH. Ping is non existant and could probably advance high RPM timing 1-2 degrees more.
Welcome aboard, ex Navy here, 2+ yrs aboard USS Coral Sea CV-43 in early '80s. Sounds like some good work with the Tuner!

Update, since my truck is registered in SD and there is no inspections there, I removed the cat for some trial and error tuning (and cause its plugged from a past "missing" episode). all I can say is Damn! I have 18 degrees of advance over stock in this thing so far and no pinging. I have leaned it out some and the outcome is spectacular so far. 45mph-punch it-get a short tire bark.

I'll help with any tuning issues though!

Welcome to FTE.

Trust me, its not running 18 degrees over, despite what the Predator tells you. You're just not going to get anything even close to that much additional timing on 87 octane. 6-8 degrees tops moving to 93 octane, depending on conditions and fuel quality. Leaning it out can give more power, but you shouldn't be doing it unless you datalog the vehicle and do a wide-band O2 read on it. Without it you are risking holing a piston, which can happen without any warning symptoms. Be careful.

I was thinking the same thing.
Usually adding some fuel on the top end with mods will give more power than leaning.
Leaning out will give more MPG but at the possible expense of a meltdown.
