my suspension compressor is making a funny noise? just started doing it, it sounds like eaither something loose is on it, or it is loose itself.. has anyone ever heard of this?? also can someone tell me where it is located?? thanks..
The compressor is right in front of windshield washer reservoir.
My air lines had been leaking for a while now and I guess the compressor started to get tired of the constant pumping of the air and started vibrating a lot and making all kinds of noises. So, yes, that could be your issue.
I didn't feel like diagnosing where the leak was, so I replaced the rear airbags with coils from Strutmasters. I just got done with the conversion and everything went pretty smoothly and the truck drive as good as it did before when the bags were full.
That's something you might want to look into, too.
Go to Eddie Spinks at American Air Suspension, he has helped me more than once, He knows Ford/Lincoln air suspension better than any dealer.
Same parts but a much better dealer and he give a longer warranty and cheaper.
if you ever need help or something is wrong Eddie is fast to put it right and will help you out every inch of the way.
He'll buy back old parts -get a dealer to do that!
I actually found the problem, thanks to texfin telling me where the compressor was located, I found that a wire harness wraped in loom I made was against it vibrating when it was eunning, I zip tied it out of the way and perfecto ! quiet as a mouse! I knew it was something stupid this truck has been so good to me! I love expy! very reliable! thanks again
