My 77 had a sunroof too.It looked like it was done by pro.
By anychance dose yours have like a black covering that you can put over it.
I remember that sunroof, but its not there anymore. My uncle wreked the truck and had to get a new cab.Mabye it was like a turnkey option, because my truck has been in the family since day one,and no one im my family could have installed one that looks so good.neither would they want one,but thats becides the point.
American Sunroof did many of the aftermarket installations back then for car dealers, and customers alike. The power operated sunroofs available from the factory for LTD's, Thunderbirds, Lincolns and Marks, etc, even though factory installed were by American Sunroof.
No seperate covering. At least I didn't get one from the PO. Mine has a crank to open it , but of course I need to find a new handle.
I took some pics but I can't find my cable to download them. I'll post them when I find the cable.
1974/79 Mustangs and 1972/79 Pinto's had crank operated sunroofs. These were the only Ford models to have this type of sunroof, all the rest were electric.
D2FZ-62502A50-A .. "Sliding" Roof Handle ~ Fits all Pinto's and Mustangs
There's also a gearbox and drive assembly, but there's two different types. Mustangs and 1975/79 Pinto's used one type, 1972/74 Pinto's used another.
