Also, when the rubber seals dry out in 5 to 10 years it's impossible to find replacement parts. If a sunroof isn't factory installed, it's not worth having.
I have a after market sunroof the PO installed and you are right, he had NO idea what he was doing. All the roof suports were hacked out and it leaks all the time and it has been sealed closed for years and it still leaks.
I have a 82 Bronco XLT and just called to get a price on a power sunroof estimate and was quoted $995 installed. It comes with a lifetime warranty and is guaranteed not to leak, or if it does they will replace it.

Sure, as long as the company is still around when it needs parts.
Besides, ever heard the saying, "A warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it."

I would question very carefully the company's warranty. I am sure they will be fine if their sunroof leaks but if you wheel it (particularly with out the top) you will twist the cab around a lot. I bet if you move the sheet metal around they will not be so quick to warranty it.
You may already have leaks so why get more? Enjoy the cracks above the "B" pillar. Years ago I worked for a Ford-Lincoln-Mercury-Toyota dealer who would not stock sun roofs and would only order them after a serious warning to the buyer about leaks.
The A/C is cooling about three times the area of a pickup cab so do you think a sun roof will help?

You may want to call that place back up and ask them where the window will slide to when you try to open it. A power moonroof does not have near enough roof space in a Bronco to open up. Save your money.
I've been researching power sunroofs for my future 1996 Bronco.
Some threads talk about sunroofs being foolish because they weaken the integrity of the bronco body.
I say pooh. We're not racing here.
And if you're really worried then install a roll bar. Which I may do anyhow if I can find one I like that doesn't block the rear side windows.
So the Webasto Hollandia 321L at 17.8“ x 32.3“ (glass size, not cutout) and ~$550 aftermarket prices seems to be the most common "large" sunroof.
It's a "spoiler" style, which is the only siding sunroof that will work for Bronco, due to the limited depth available in the roof.
The sunroof slides up, over the roof and back.
I'm a Sunroof fanatic. I haven't had a car in 20 years that didn't have one.
I just can't do without it. I have to have all windows down.
Sunroof open.
And with the Bronco, the soft top mostly open.
Can anyone help me out?
I'd like to know the max dimensions of the Bronco roof?
The "semi-flat" part where the sunroof would go.
It'll give me Google window-shopping ammo.
I attached an example picture of what an electric "spoiler sunroof" is.
So you could see how it looks on a short roof.
Not super pretty.
But IDK about looks.
Oh, and I watched several sunroof install videos.
I totally got this.
I love DIY. And I didn't see anything that scared me.
Just gotta get the sealing done right.
And make sure there are no drainage issues.
