OK Have a new F-250 Superduty 4WD. Leather and all the options. I live in the South. Loved the seat warmers in the winter. However, the darn things seem to turn themselves on in the summer. I'll be riding down the road with the AC wide open and realize the weather's hot "down under". Help!
I have an 05 and never have the problem. My wife on the other hand is always turning her's on. She must hit the switch whenever she's getting in the truck.
I was worried about that too. Seemed like they were always coming on by themselves in the winter, and I thought I was going to have to pull the fuse once it got warm out so it didn't happen. I haven't had it happen to me at all since last winter though. I'm thinking maybe stuff in my coat pockets was hitting the button while I got in or something, and now that I'm not wearing a coat it doesn't happen.
T. Paris, I never ended up looking into it, but I am sure there is either a fuse you can pull to disable them, or a plug under the seat you could disconnect. Good luck.
If I've done it once..I've done it 1,000 times. The button is very easy to hit when entering OR exiting the truck. I've managed to turn it on in both cases.
I am constantly bumping the switch when I get in or out, so once the weather starts to warm up in the spring I just pull the fuse out. The switch needs to be recessed in more to prevent accidental bunfryin!
