Took a vacation day today from work and spent it browsing the junk yards with a friend. I found a set of tan leather seats from a 02 f350 in great shape. They are full power and heated. Got a great deal on them. I cant wait to install them this weekend. Anyone ever wire these up?
Did you get the pigtails too? If so, wiring should be pretty easy. Just splice into the wiring for your lumbar. I was going to put SD seats in my truck, but didn't have enough head room so ended up selling them.
do they fit right in or is it quite a task to do the swap? i am dying to get different seats for my truck i really miss the 40\20\40's that my old truck had, the new rig used to have them but the last owner pulled them before trade-in, i was quite po'ed. now i am stuck with some half-asssed bench that sucks so bad
The obs floor pan is quite a bit different. New holes for all the mounts. The front side mounts for the center section overlap with the seat mounts and use the same mounting holes. 4 holes in the front, 8 in the back. The rear mounting brackets for the center section need to be bent to mate to the floor.
I'm not much of a fabricator... so I won't say it's easy, but it's definately doable.
I know a couple of guys on TDS that have done it and are very happy with the results.
Looks like its going to be a bite of work to get em in. The tracks are independent and the new seats will need some mounting brackets of some sort to bolt to. Im going to take a bunch of pics this weekend when I tackle it. And, yes they did come with the pigtails. I should be able to figure it out.
Also, joe. Ill might be looking to get rid of my front seats now. They are the factory 40/20/40 minus the 20 part. I recovered them a couple of years ago with Katskins and added heat to the drivers side. I havent decided if im going to put them in the back or not yet. Most of the time its just the dog back there and i think she'd miss her bench seat.
so you have bucket seats or captains chairs...whatever they call them now, 2 seperate ft seats with the little container thing in the middle. are they grey and can you upload a pic? i am definatly interested
Oooh man these seats are so comfortable. Night and day difference, the six way power is really nice. makes it easy to get comfy. The installation wasnt too bad. I spent a good 8 hours on it today though. Most of that time was spent getting them laid out, there isnt much room for error. They barely fit, width wise. They were actually pretty easy to bolt in. The superduty floor pans I guess arent too different than ours. All I did was get them all in place, mark all the holes and drilled them out. Then simply bolted them down, shimming with washers were it was needed. I got some pics but left my camera in the shop. Maybe get them up tomorrow.
