I don't even have a garage. We were more concerned with having a place where we could keep our horses out back. With that as our primary concern and our budget, pickings were slim. So I just "combat park" out front.
I have a standard garage for my F350 crew cab short box and Expedition. Tight fit, but it works. I had to replace the whip antenna with a shorter one as well.
I have my eye on a 6.4l F250 but I haven't made up my mind yet. I'll have to head back to the dealer and drive one home to see if it fits in the garage next to the Windstar. I know that is one of the questions the insurance company will ask. "Is it garaged?" "Why yes, of course."
Mine fits in our garage, 03 F350 Xcab 8' bed Height with and length.
It hardly ever sees the inside though. The garage is 24'w x 30'L with 12' ceilings and two 10' x 10' doors. Fits very easily.
I guess I'm really lucky, the people we bought the house from had a motorhome and built a 40 foot by 20 foot garage with a 15 foot high door to park it in.....the f350 fits in real NICE!!!!!
I garage mine with about 1" in front of the front bumper, I have a CC, 4X4, 8' bed. In order to do this I have to back truck in. The garage is attached. When I built house I made sure the garage door was taller and the garage was deeper in the event I bout an Excursion.
Always in the garage (22 x 24). have room on all sides and have the car plus other junk in there. Pays to have the short box tho, it would be tight, but not impossible , with an 8 foot box.
I build houses for a living and I would never build a garage that wasn't big enough. Unless the client really wanted it. My garage has 8' doors and is 32' deep. Plenty of space for the old girl. I wouldn't dream of making her sleep outside.
I park 2 in mine. F-250 sc,lb,v-10 and F-350 cc,lb psd, and I guess I have my 67 chevy p/u in there also. But it is a 60x60 shop though with 18ft. eaves...
My problem is I need a CC so I might have to take down some cabinets so it will fit (standard garage). My wife hates the idea anyway but she doesn't like my current Expedition either (I have to turn it in by the end of October). So I figure if she is going to be mad anyway I might as well get what I really want.
I figure in about 4 years I can build my retirement home. I can assure you it will include an over size garage.
