Ok, we just bought a '99 F350 PS Diesel CrewCab Dually with the E40D tranny. We found a leak at the rear seal and have replaced this on another truck many years ago and we had a hard time finding the part numbers then. We need part numbers for the rear seals, bushings for the tail housing and the gasket for the tail housing and tranny....
please help!!!

Clintbonnie, you are corrrect, the dealer told my hubby that it is "the same tranny just labeled differently". We have located the seals and gasket at the dealer and now we are trying to find the bushings that go in the tail housing.
OK.. ya.. maybe a good time to be a supporter, even though you just became a member.. I love this forum and have saved tons of money and you can troubleshoot most problems right here without taking your truck to the shop... Being a supporter i think will allow you to email and PM to members..
ok, well Mike (my hubby) went to the part store and picked up the gasket and seal. The only problem is they didn't fit! They were too small and now we know why! This truck has a GVRW of 11,000 unlike most of the F350's. SO, the gasket and seal is now on order. The only problem is, the part number that I was given by Austin, will it fit this truck?
I know quite a bit about trucks but I don't know how or why this trucks GVRW is more than others....also this truck is geared lower than most others! BUT, we did get 15 mpg on our first trip in it so we were VERY VERY glad!
