My portable Sirius Radio is plugged into my front power point and MP3 jack. The manual says not to leave anything plugged into the power point for long when the truck is not running. Am I draining the battery if the Sirius Radio is plugged into the power point but not turned on? I hate to keep unplugging it at night.
I never unplug my Sirius. I just make sure that I turn it off when I get out of the truck. It could drain a little bit, but I'm sure it isn't much. The truck has sat for about 3 weeks and there hasn't been an issue.
I have an after market radio. So i used the power antenna wire to power my sirius.
it only turns on when my radio is on, and turns off if i decide to listen to a cd.
It's perfect.
As long as you make sure you turn your Sirius radio off when you arent in the truck, I dont think you will have an issue.
When the manual says to not leave something plug into the powerpoint for long with the engine off it is referring more to cell phone chargers or other things that draw power constantly when they are plugged in.
As long as you turn the Sirius off, I dont think it draws much, if any power from the battery.
