Guys .. what would ya'll suggest for an additive
for my 97 f250 ???
I'm running a 7.3 with a full banks system :-(
with a superchips programer (the banks chip burned out my computer :-( .. I should have
did better research oh well !!!!!
What Ron said is great! I've herad from others that the Stanadyne fuel additive is as good or better than the DK, but it's not as readily available in local stores. I've been using the DK product since last November, but am now switching over to the Stanadayne for a long term run with it for comparison sake.
I was happy with the DK, but wanted to give the new one a chance based on all the excellent reports for it as well. There are numerous online sources where you can order the Stanadyne products, which is what I did.
I have been using Stanadyne Performance Formula every fill up since March 2007. My mileage has gone from 12 mpg around town to 14 mpg and from 16 mpg highway to 18 mpg
H_Talon I am new to the site and I asked the same question, Hands down from everyone who replied was diesel Kleen. I started using it with every tank and I am pleased.
thanks for the info guys ... I'm leaving for a 3500
mile trip next week so I'll track down one or the
other ... could sure use better milage :-) ..
I just had the fuel system gone thru and replaced
the fuel filter system. boy that cost :-( ..
changing out the injectors as we speak, the
two other owners never serviced the fuel
system, there was an 1" of crud in the filter
and the lines and strainers were 90% clogged.
so something to help breakup the crap in the
tank would be a great thing ..
I'll look into the DP tuner .. no time before the
trip ..
