Picking up a new van this coming week and I was originally going to get a 4.2 but I do have the option of the 4.6 in a similar van. With all considered (including problems) would the V8 be the better way to go? Any imput would be much appreciated.

What are you going to be doing with the van? Is it to be a cargo hauler? Will it be a service type van (painter)? will it be a wagon model with factory seating for people hauling? will it be a converstion van? Will you be towing and if so what is the trailer weight? What type of driving will you be doing and on what type of roads? (mountain, hills or flat plains at or near sea level)
Personally I would not even consider any thing less then a V-8. Further I would give the nod to the 5.4L as this is a full size van that can be loaded down pretty good.
