so the last couple days since sunday i noticed a little squeak in the left front so yesterday (monday) i pulled the locking hubs to check the the needle bearings and they looked great. The truck ran great and drove just fine but on my way to work this morning when i hit the brakes it pulls HARD to the left do you guys think it could be the wheel bearing? or do brake calipers just give up that fast?
any thoughts are greatly appreciated thanks in advance,
Billy
I would replace the front pads and be sure you lube up the sliders that are inside the rubbers slinky looking boots. The prev own put new pads and rotors on my truck about 5k before I bought it but the pads wore wicked uneven, I believe due to the sliders not being greased well. Because it pulls when breaking, would not think the wheel bearing is bad. Unless your hubs are locked accidentally, your needle bearings are not spinning so you can cross them off the list. They can make a clunking sound if they are real bad though (because if the half shaft slapping around when cornering...).

Check the right front. When something gives up the vehicle always pulls to the good side because it's doing all the work.
well about two weeks ago my brakes were shaking like warped rotors so i pulled the front wheels and greased the caliper slide and checked the pads the pads were wearing straight and only one slide was dry, it was on the left side. I cleaned up the rust from the pin and greased both slides on both sides. I am still concerned about the wheel bearing because i lost one in my 98 ranger and it took out the caliper, bracket and rotor but i am sure on this truck those parts are alot more expensive so i dont want that to happen again
well i pulled both front wheels, removed calipers and pads clean with brake clean and compressed pistons to make sure they were not siezed and both side were ok. pads have over 1/2" and wearing evenly. I have found that if i give one little pump before appling hard on the brakes it does not pull hardly at all and i am puzzled.
anymore thoughts or opinions?
thanks, Billy
the calipers were off but the brake line connected, there are no leaks, if i have to step on the brakes hard i have to turn the wheel over a half turn. I think tomorrow i can try and bleed them do you think the rear brakes could cause a pull this serious because i havent checked the rear.
i thought about the rubber brake line swelling when you apply the brakes but i need someone to press the brake so i can watch the line i will have to look thanks.
