Fuel starving problem
Wondering if anyone has any ideas.
My boss has a 1971 bronco with a 302.
The thing is cherry, runs real good when first started and motor sounds very healthy.
The problem is,it has a clear fuel filter mounted in front when it first starts, the filter is almost full with the engine running.
But after it runs a while, the filter dries up and the engine starts starving for fuel.
He tried a new carburator, cleaning the lines and a new electric fuel pump.
Problem still there.
he says he dropped the tanks and they were clean.
It has a small holley carb, and a holley mechanical fuel pump.
Any ideas?this would probably mean a nice raise for me if I get it running good. : )
any help would be appreciated.
This is caused by a tank not being vented or plugged or the fuel cap has no vent or clogged. Buy a vented cap or add or trace out the vent line for the fuel tank(spiders, hornets and mud dobbers are known to clog these tubes)
Let me know what you find?
