I have had a apark knock and missing problem about 6 months now.It is only under load. The motor misses and knocks.I have been running mid grade fuel lately and seem s to help.I had done a tune up to help,I thought it was a miss.I was told to watch the routing of plug wires on a 351.Spark jump.So I changed them.Any ideas.WE did a fuel ijector and throttle body cleaning also, and fuel filter. Thanks
check your ignition timing, around here gas seems to be of a lower quality more and more. Plug wire looms may help. If all else fails check your timing chain, total engine timing.
My buddy said that if we reset the timing the computer will reset it back. The truck has 160.000 on it.Do you think it will help???Thanks for the responce.
Believe me.....you have to follow it........try that and see.
At 160k your timing chain could be going bad......causing it to be out of time some. Get a timing light and check it, see where it is and if it's where it's sposed to be. Resetting the computer isn't going to change the timing if it's a bad chain.
I'm workin on same thing without miss. Clean Iac and check egr for sticking as well as check for vac leaks . What they told me to do in injection forum .I just did get to do yet .

The computer cannot adjust absolute timing, it can only adjust timing relative to the set point, which you can change. Retarding the timing a degree or two may help, depending upon where it is set now. If it is set at 10° BTDC now, there's another issue that needs to be resolved. Retarding the timing is only masking another problem.
