I have 2 c6 tranny's in the garage and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the numbers on the bellhousing might be for. One has a 63 and the other a 70, is there one that might be better than the other? Also I am looking for the casting numbers on what is supposed to be a 351W, just to confirm that is what it is, any pointers on where they might be would be appreciated.

C6: The left side of case will have a metal tag with Ford ID codes on them. Sample C6 code from 1966: PGA-A / Sample C6 code from 1975: PGD-Y2. Whatever the codes are, post them here for a complete description of model year/type of vehicle, and engine size they were used with.

I found some numbers on the tranny just above the rear drivers side of the pan, the #'s are: first trans 7UP-7006-AA
second trans RF-07UP-7006-AA
I am not sure if this helps (hope it is not just the part number for the housing), any help would be great.

second trans RF-07UP-7006-AA That's a D not an 0, it should read: D7UP

Take er easy
Please look for the metal tag with the Ford ID code. The number you listed is for the case, and as you can see, it was used on many models.
