I have a 1998 F-150 and for the last couple of months I have had a problem with the passenger side window. Sometimes it won't go down. If I toggle the switch up and down (on either side) it will eventually start working. It seems to only get stuck when it's all the way up or all the way down. Has anyone else seen this?
I am also chasing the dreaded hesitation problem. I was getting engine codes for mis-fire so I replaced the plugs and wires. This worked for a little while but now the hesitation is back but the check engine light has not come back on again. Is there something else that can cause this kind of hesitation without triggering the engine light?
I think it would be either the motor or the connection to it, as long as either switch acts the same way. I had a similar problem on a Crown Vic and it was the motor. I remember that when it stuck down, I could sometimes hold the switch and bang on the door and it would go up. But I had to replace the motor. No advice on the engine codes, though. sorry.
Hope this helps
