Is anyone keeping up with the soap opera going on over on "The Ranger Station?" I got my popcorn and coke ready. It will be interesting to see where this one ends up. jd

Got that email they sent out, so i went to see what the deal was. I knew they were having issues in the past but wow, guess ill look a little more after work to see what the heck is going on. Used to be a good site.

I've always been uncomfortable with the notion that when something gets posted on an internet forum, it no longer belongs to the person who posted it.
So I'm not surprised to read about battles over who owns what when it comes to forum hosting and claims of breach of contract.

To sum it up, they are arguing over a $60 a month charge. The company in Canada is clearly breaking some USA laws along with copyright and privacy laws and the owner of TRS is not making the best business decisions either.
Both sides are screaming legal this and that. Neither has the capacity to sue the other over such minor stuff or to win a lawsuit to make it worth it for a lawyer with damages. Neither probably has much assets either.
In short, just another internet drama with both parties being forgotten in ten years where noone cares or remembers what the drama was about or the outcome.
