Angry Bolt Pattern

Ever whos idea it was at Ford to change the bolt pattern on the wheels needs there *** kicked ..... i was gonna put my 35s and rims off my 77 on my 99 earlier and the bolt pattern is just a fuzz differnce , the tips of the lugs on the 99 would fit in the 77 rim , but not slide completley up on it ...... So now im just gonna blow some money on some rims that are just a fuzz differnce , instead of usin the ones i already got .... i was so mad i almost took a drill and wollered the holes out in my rims to get them to fit .... ok im done btihcing now

What's really fun is to get a great deal on a Sterling 10.5 with disks and calipers, and 4.10 gears to match your front, only to find out it has a different bolt pattern, and nobody wants that axle since it has a different bolt pattern. That was back before I was involved in FTE, learned my lesson on that one.
Now I'm just upset because all the $300 sets of aluminum rims on CL are for the new bolt pattern. I really wish Ford would have left that alone.

I found the same thing several years ago when I had a 97 150...I ended up just keeping the stock ones on, I liked them anyway.

I saw a pic of your new truck bigun, it's sharp. My 97 was exactly like it except black. Does yours have the 4.6 and manual tranny, that's what mine had. I've got to say that was my favorite truck that I've had yet, I like my 05 250, but that little 150 was more fun to drive...It just got to where it wouldn't haul what I needed, I wish I still had it though...

Yes, you should be thankful because the difference saved you a lot of grief from putting that older style wheel on an axle meant for a HUBCENTRIC only wheel. On the newer axles, the hub locates the wheel, not the lugnuts.

Because that would be too logical and simple...and we can't have any of that type stuff...

The same reason they can't make all bolts one or two head sizes, no matter what the shank size. Because that makes too much sense.

I have to say most European cars I have seen stick to a 4 on 4 metric rim that is interchangeable amoung many cars.

Designed by the same guy who figured it would be a good idea to put the oil filter on the Windsors sideways. Over a crossmember.
