ignition swap

I have an 84 F-150 with an aod trans and factory ac. engine is a 300 6 but the ignition is crap as is the carb. any one know the path to convert to a vacume advance distibuter and a regular carb. and fender mounted controll module/

Find a earlier factory setup and swap it in. As you stated you need the carb and the dist, and the ignition module, and probably a few other odds and ends. You could get a carb from a early 70's six, and that would be even better.

i have a module from an 81 and a vacume advance distributor and coil from an 81. carb is on order. it looks like i need the wiring from the distributor to the module. looks like i got to got to some junk yards. any one with experience got any suggestions? thx

Your module should look like this with plugs already on it.

Your distributor should look like this, with a plug already on it. They both should just plug in, and then you have to plug the hot wires into the other plug on the module.

If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our custom curved Duraspark Distributor built with our new Full Length Oil Impregnated Bronze Bushing.
