Black tips?

I'm wanting a black tip for my 6.0L 4" exhaust. I'd like a 6" tip that is black stainless steel. I've searched and have been unsuccessful in locating anything. I'm about to the point of painting my current 6" with some 1200* temp paint.

Painting would be the least expensive but what about powder coating? I know that some motorcycle exhaust systems have been successful with powder coating.

i don't know what temp. powder coating is rated up to. i got a quote from Jet Hot, but they wanted about $160+S&H just to do my current 6"x20" tip in a semi gloss black that can handle temps up to 1100.

Check out Rlling Big Power, (www.rollingbigpower.com) They sell a black 4<>6 inch black coated tip.

However they are expensive aroudn 170 bucks, so might not be your first choice, lol.

Dang that's pretty much exactly what I wanted except for the polished name plate on it. Looks like I'm gunna try and paint this one. If it doesn't hold up I'll just have it coated.

There is ceramic based powercoat paint for high heat applications, headers and such. I saw the stuff in the Eastwood Co. catalog. I would ask a local powder coater whats available.

You might could get it without, if you call and ask, or e-mail them.

Might, but I'd rather Jet-hot coat the one I have instead and have a semi-gloss coating if I'm gunna pay the same amount. That price is just extremely high.

get "wood stove black" its a 1200 degree black paint. its flat black, idk if u want that but i think that looks the best on exhausts. i did my t-pipe with that and have not had a problem. if the paint starts to melt cause its 1200 degrees, that is the least of your worries.
