Netfly you are correct it's 305/65/18 I typed it in wrong the first time, guess I been looking at too may tire sizes lately.

You are also correct on the rim size listed but the tires but a .5 inch smaller rim really did not make a differance. The psi was set by ford listed on the gas filler door I believe if you look at the conti tire it's set for max tire pressure of 80 psi.

The BFG are 65 psi for the max pressure. I have never followed what ford recommends for tire pressure I always use the max presssure listed on the tire.

Tire pressure has more to do with tire size and weight rating of the tire check out the BFG 305 it's E rated with a max load of 3525 lbs the 325 is d range max load of 3195 lbs.
I still think you might get in trouble with the 325's off road w/o a leveling kit where as the 305's have plenty of room on a stock truck. For me the I did not want to spend anymore $ on new rims or a leveling kit, I like the look of the OEM wheels and wanted the truck to sit correctly when towing. so the size you go with will be more personal choice and how you use your truck.

I can say for the tire noise I can't tell any change. I am sure they are a little louder but with a PSD I can't tell it.

best of luck to you on getting your new tires do your research and make the best choice for what suits your needs and you will be happy.

Netfly one other thing you might want to look at the 305 tire is severe snow rated I am not sure about the other sizes it's my understanding that not all BFG AT's are severe snow rated some are some are not. Just something for you to check out if thats a factor for where you live.

DKF I have to say I really don't like any of the factory tires, I think ford need to get their head out of their backsides and start putting some tires on with some meat and leave the pizza cutters off them, you would think they would want to sell something that would last and look good not just the cheapest thing they can find.
Not that it helps much, but GM doesn't do much if any better in OEM tires on their trucks either. I was looking at a competitor's trucks that he got for strictly work, especially snowplowing, and the had about as much tread as the Conti's. I just laughed when I saw them, looked like something off a car.

Ditto to the comments already made about the Conti's. Sorriest excuse for a truck tire I've ever seen. I got 'stuck' in about an inch of sand under my front tires, backs one in grass, couldn't believe it. Only tire I've ever been worried about traction during rain while towing a trailer, except when I waited to long to get new ones, but that was my fault.

I got rid of mine with about 11K on them after hydroplaning while responding to a fire call. I was going about 65 during a rain shower.

Birddog, I like your wood bed rails and the new tires look great.
I've been reading all the threads about the tires, since, after purchasing a used F250 with what I thought at the time were great "looking" tires....only to find out later that they are not proper load rated for my truck.
Its an 05 F250 King Ranch 6.0 that calls OEM for the Conti LT275.70R18.
It came with Firestone Destination AT 275 65R18 which it turns out are load range D. I'll have to run them until I can upgrade ($$) to the proper tires. (E)Thanks for the info on the BFG's.

Thanks for the good info birddog16. Good luck with the BFG's. I'll probably get the same 305's as soon as these conti's lose a little more tread. The BFG's do look great and anything will be a big improvement over the conti crap I'm sure.

Birddog,
Thanks for the info. I too am stuck with the Conti's on my 05 F250 CC KR. I have 26k miles on them. I want to go with the BFG's but I'm stuck with the Conti's for awhile. The old lady will kill me if I drop $1k+ on tires right now. Ain't marriage great?

Yeah, except for this time for me I told her (and I'm still alive to tell about it) that I was getting new ones. Figured $1K on new tires was cheaper than a new truck after totalling this one because of crappy tires. Or the deductible if I didn't total it.

Well, I know you guys were talking mostly 350's with the 18" rims, but I will tell you that 315/70/17 BFG A/Ts will fit on a stock 250. Yes, I know it's a 17" rim, but I just figured I would stick it in there. Pics are in my gallery. No rubbing, lock to lock.

I hear ya guys I am in hot water with the wife for getting the tires but as I always say it's easier to ask for forgiveness then permission. plus I don't want to wreck the truck or get stuck on grass the dodge guys love that. sofdchief I wish I had 17" rims would have cost me a little less. whats the size on the 315/ 17's? seems they make tire sizes that can be all over the place. the 305's I put on measure out at 33.7 tall and 12.2 wide.

Just don't say: "Just think of how bad it would be if I died because of crappy tires", at least in my case. I'm worth more dead than alive.

Birddog, How do those 305's steer when stopped?? Any difference in steering effort compared to the last tires? I'm gonna have to agree with the continental tires in that they are horrible. Had a blow out on a highway in the Expedition luckily I was able to get off to the shoulder... Check my tires regularly too....

Can't tell any difference in steering or power when taking off. seems like a little more effort to stop. This all on an unloaded truck.
