now i know you have to use spacers when you put a cleveland intake on a 400, but what about where the endseals go? do the kits they sell come with some sort of spacer for that too, that'd be a bigass bead of silicone, reason i ask is because i was lookin at a chi intake, but the damn thing is 600 bucks, i also have an ole holley strip dominatory settin at teh house, the one i'm runnin right now is a weiend and i think it leaves a little to be desired,
Father/son are you trying to compare a 351C manifold to a 400 manifold? The RPM manifold is great if you are trying to swiss cheese a perfectly good 400. If you build a 400 with a steel Windsor crank, H-beam rods, and forged pistons you might be light enough to turn high RPMs to take advantage of the RPM manifold. You are going to need a Main girdle and splayed 4 bolt caps to hold it together though... You can't just slap on a single component and slack on the rest and expect it to make up for the rest.

These are the spacers that came in a Weiand kit. I don't know if they make them anymore though.
There was a fellow selling a set of Weiand #8205 spacers at the Carlisle All-Truck show. He wanted $45.00 for them. They had the end spacers as well as the plates. I should have bought them and put them on Ebay, but I already have stuff to put on Ebay and that never gets done.
dern, those pme spacers look pretty good, now that lets you use pretty much any cleveland manifold on a 400 then right, i mean as far as if you choose a 4v or 2v version to match the heads of course, i think i am gonna get aholt of tim and get me a set of em thanks yall
Does anyone have a link they can supply in order to buy a set of these intake spacers? Im located in Australia and have a stout 400 in my sedan and I wish to fit a cleveland tunnel tam to my 400.
Also what do you guys use to fill in the big gap, or does the spacer kit still supply those end seal spacers aswel?
Anyways I need to purchase one of these ASAP so if anyone has any information that would be greatly appreciated.
The PME spacers come with a valley tray that seals to the block. When you mount the intake, there is about a 3/4" gap between the bottom of the intake and the alloy valley tray. It all looks quite nice once mounted. If you go to my Photobucket account you can see pics of my motor with the spacers and intake mounted. Just search for user xafalcongs.
The spacers can be bought to let you mount 351C 2V intakes or 351C 4V intakes. The advantage of doing this instead of running the CHI intake is that you have more options and, like in my case, I didn't have the hood clearance for the CHI but I did for a Torker.
As for a link, TMI sells the PME spacers, just click on the TMI sponsor logo and it will take you to Tim's site.
Thanks heaps for info mate, your coupe looks awesome!! My 400 is going into my FE LTD. Just out of curiosity, how much did the spacers cost you delivered in Aussie dollars? Im running out of time for summernats and would like to get the tunnel ram up and running. Also did you just run a big bead of silicone to seal the front/ rear of the manifold, and also do the spacers bolt to the heads, then the manifold to the spacers, or does it all line up with the original bolt holes?
thanks again, John

Hey John,
Thanks for the compliments. The valley tray goes in first and I used a normal thin bead of silicon just like I would with a normal manifold. Next you install the spacers and those are held used normal gaskets but once installed the spacers help hold the valley tray down. Finally, the 351C intake bolts to the spacers so be careful not to strip the alloy holes. I wished I could quote you a shipping price to Australia but I'm in the US. The one good thing is the AU$ is worth about US$.90 so that will help you one the costs a bit. Good luck, hope you make to the Summer Nats.
