Two Guys Garage

Has anyone seen the last few episodes of "Two Guys Garage" where they are using Duplicolor auto paint on a car? It is a lacquer based paint that requires no reducers or mixing. I gues its' just a pour and shoot paint. Then a clear is used over the paint. I checked out Dups web site and they really dont offer much information about the product. Currently they say they have 8 colors. I sounds good, but I dont know much about lacquer paints.

laquer is the worst quality auto paint you can buy but is the easiest to spray...unless you REALLY want it to look good...then you need to wet sand with 1200 between each coat... and spray at least 8-10 if not more.

It's not horrible stuff and can last quate a while if prepped right...industry used it for quite a while. If you're at the point of being able to spray...at least use an acrylic enamel. It's probably less expensive too.

Dupli-color

I have used it and think its great! Granted I don't know squat about automobile paints. I just wanted to paint my truck. Its a 91 ranger with about a billion miles. I saw a cool paint job on "Trucks" and thought what the heck I can't hurt it. I read and followed the instructions, yes wet sanding sucks. But all in all I am very happy with the looks. I used black silver white then clearcoat. It was easy fun except for the aforementioned sanding. I have a post elsewhere in the forum that has pictures. IMHO it is as easy as they made it look on tv.
