are you putting it in neutral before trying to shift out of low range?

For the ESOF (electronic shift on the fly)......

To shift out of 4low you MUST be in neutral, at a complete stop, and have your foot on the brake. Turn the **** and wait for the dash light to go out.

while you have it in neutral and foot on the brake, let it roll a couple of feet, then get on the brakes again and stop.

I had that trouble once, and wiggling the dash switch finally moved it. Seemed like a funky switch, but haven't had it happen again.

Crawl under thr truck and unplug the electric motor on the transfer case. Also try rocking it back and forth then going into neutral once it moves in each direction.

that's one reason I wish Ford would have made some kind of manual lever to change modes. For a truck that size it should be mechanical, not electronic - leave that for the soccer mom SUVs.

They do, but unless it was ordered that way, ESOF is what you usually find on dealer lots.
