Question Clutch Wear

This might be a stupid qwestion but I got to know. I have a 96 F150 Inline 6, 5 spd with about 114'000 miles on it and i was just wondering what some signs of clutch wear are and when I should replace it.

may not help you much but my clutch pedal just got very soft at start up , then the next day no clutch at all. had to replace clutch and slave cylinder this was at 146,00
