I was heading to the county fair the other night when a dodge 24v cummins passed me and blew smoke all over me and then kept slowing down and doing it again....Boy was i pissed that i couldnt get him back so today i ordered a DP tuner. I was going to get it earlier, but i have been putting in 60 hour weeks.

I ordered no start, stock, 80hp econ, 120 race, 140 aggressive (smoke) the order will be shipped Monday i cant wait

I really hope it wakes the truck up....

After you get your dp installed, look for that dodge then roast and smoke him. lol

 

Good deal once you have the tunes in then go on the hunt. You should enjoy them.

 

What a D--k. I would not expect to smoke every crummins, but you should be able to hold your own if not get a few stockers. Not bad for the technology in our rigs. I will personally assure you that your truck ought to wake up. If you are like everyone else with the DP, you will kick yourself in the rear for waiting, and will drive around with an ear to ear grin.

 

i have other plans for performance that are soon to come... my plans are BVB, wicked wheel, FASS, probably a turbo upgrade and when i get time all of the free mods...i think those mods will help me put a few "cummins with dodge wrapping paper" in their place

What can we beat with the mods we have? My brother has an 02' dodge with super chip, I spank him when I had my superchip. In my sig you can see what I have now. Can I beat the newer dodges with mods?

 

Probably, but not a properly chipped one. Keep in mind that the Cummins is set up well in stock configuration. Since they can move so much air and fuel in the stock setting, it doesn't take much to launch them ahead. Of course they suffer from worse fuel economy doing all that, especially when towing.

All I have to say is, if you get a chance, go to a dyno event or drag strip with the big three trucks and watch what happens. Man I was disappointed. Even the 6.0s were getting spanked by the Dmax and Cummins. Be careful what you get into. Those trucks have a decided edge right from the start and take very little compared to the 7.3 to crank them up to ridiculous power levels. As for longevity, we are all proof of that.

 

went up against a couple dodges with mine awhile back, one was running a banks setup and I beat him 3 out of 3 tries, the other was running a more custom tune (would be similar to the DPtuner only for a dodge instead of our trucks) with a few other mods and he put a serious hurting on my (1 second faster in the 1/8th) I don't know what else was done but it was a brand new dodge and I heard it had twin turbos but can't verify that one.

 

alot of guys around here that run dodges run a smarty box it is like the dp-tuner for our trucks....only their box is guarenteed not to be able to be detected by the dealership so that it wont void their warranty....

i have 2 friends with 24v cummins one is a 06 and one is an 07 both have the 5.9 and both are sticks and i know that if we lined up they would both beat me, but i was wondering is it just because i have to turn 37's or doesnt it matter... hell i lost to a 1/2 ton with a 351 in it

 

my buddy has a dodge and from what hes been showing me on his forum is that the smarty gives huge gains , like 500+ hp with smarty intake and exhaust....his truck has a bullydog, its an 05 and we are dead even, both 6spds. in the 1/8th my quickest time was .05 faster then his quickest.and im a couple mph faster....i think something is wrong because he should be able to spank me.


edit- thats a total of 500+hp not a gain of 500.

 

i have been away at work all week so i wasnt sittin here waiting on the dp-tuner to arrive, but it came today when i came home it was already here.. I'm putting it in on Sat or Sun i cant wait...

 

I believe that would mean an install tonight! Sat or Sun is waiting. I already had my PCM out and cleaned the day I knew my first chip was coming.

FWIW, I went up against a newer CTD yesterday rolling smoke at each other, but when he had the chance to pull away, he couldn't. No idea what he had, but it was something, because of the smoke. I honestly call that one a tie. I had much blacker smoke, though. His was a bit gray. We both waved at each other when I turned off into my neighborhood, so it was all good.
