track bar bolt issue

I've gotten some feedback from this in the 73-79 forum but thought I' try here for some more. My 79 4x4 f150 track bar bolt had to be gut between the boss on the axle housing where it attaches and the bushing because it was frozen in from rust. I got it out and figured it mus have been tight and got a new bolt. Put in the new bolt and found maybe it's not so tight after all. It has a little bit of side to side play. How much is allowable? I thought about putting the bolt in and welding it on both sides of the boss but someone suggested that the heat would weaken it and if it broke make it useless. I would be using a small mig and just tacking it. The only other option I'm aware of is the kit that Graveyard sells to ream a tapered hole and use a tapered bolt that goes with it. Any thoughts?

I have welded a lot of bolts when making flatbeds, welding at all on a bolt destroys its strength, the person was correct in saying not to do it.

Track bar bolt should be tight, it helps locate the axle.
