Rookie question of the day: Why do you fill your block with hardener? Does this go into your water jackets? Doesn't this ruin your cooling efforts? What gives guys? Is this only on blocks that have been heavily bored? I need info!.!.!

This is for racing only...and I believe only for "maximum effort" drag racing. The hardener fills a portion of your blocks water jackets. This keeps the cylinder bores round and allows maximum ring seal. In an all-out drag car the engine is never fired for more than a couple of minutes at a time and some cars have no cooling systems at all...they are towed to the starting line and towed back from the finish line. Hope this helps. P.S. I wouldn't recommend this for street use. Deen
