First Harley

I'm about to buy my first harley, and wanted to know if anybody out there had any tips and tricks about cleaning, maintenance, performance, anything else. This isn't my first bike, but is my first bike that I care about how it looks as much as how it runs.

I have had three Harleys. Great bikes. My first, was a 94 Sportster, then a 95 FLHT bagger, and now have a 2001 1200C Sportster. I have had no major problems with any of them.

I'm looking at a 99 FXSTC, with a little over 20,000 mi. It is a sweet looking bike.

I would recommend a lift for doing maintenance and cleaning. It will make things easier on you. I have a motorcycle jack and it sure helped when cleaning the wheels. When I get healed up and get my new bike I want to buy a lift table. Enjoy your bike and be careful out there.
