"Zone" Setting on Digital Odometer?

I wasn't able to find any existing posts on this, so perhaps someone can help. I have an '06 XLT and I noticed over the weekend when I had the trip odometer displayed and held in the button to reset it, then hit the button one more right after it zeros out, I get a "Zone" display. Each time you press the button it changes from "Zone 1", "Zone 2", etc., up to I believe "Zone 12" or "Zone 20". The problem is I couldn't see the gauge when this first happened (sun was shining on it), and I don't know what the default zone for my truck is, or even more important, what do these "Zones" mean? Please let me know, I'd appreciate it.

zone would be for your compass display. The zones map should be in your owners manual.
locate your zone on the map and set the zone to match for correct compass direction display.
