How do I take off the rear brake lines? What unscrews from what?
Thanks
No offense bud, but you're scaring me! I strongly recommend you buy a manual and read it thoroughly in the section pertaining to the system you are working on. I would have to agree on finding a buddy who has automotive experience. Brakes are not difficult to work on, but a little help from an experinced person will give you the piece of mind.
Yes, I know what you mean. I was just getting irritated seeing as the truck is about 20 minutes away and driving back and forth sucks. I'm going to have it towed to a garage so everything is all set. I don't know how I didn't realize that it was an e-barek cable.
Don't feel bad. Guys on the forum are always happy to help, but you're the only one at your truck, and you need to know what everything is.
Everyone's got to have a manual to help them along. Even weary wrench warriors have manuals they can refer to from time to time.
Since you're confident enough to get down under there, a manual will help you identify what's what and you'll get better results in the end.
As for having pros do the rear brakes, I'd rather have a brake shop do the actual work in the drum, even though I know what's inside and have done them before on other vehicles over the years. I'll replace hydraulic lines and bleed them out and all that, but after that.... I guess it's just because I hate drum brakes.
Many other things on the truck you can do, with a manual as a reference, and folks here will be around to answer questions.
