Now it's 221 to 3. Could I vote twice? I have 2 7.3's.

I have approx. 180K combined on the 2. 2 CPS's, 2 sets of ball joints--1 per truck, 1 full tranny (I plow snow and tow) and 1 TC, although I don't think there was anything wrong with it, because they ended up changing the CPS and the problem went away. (I have no idea how those 2 correlate, but whatever). Anyways, neither CPS left me stranded. I did have 2 oil pans replaced--1 each, and a glow plug relay.

So yes, I am thrilled to death with my 7.3's.

I don't even have 90K combined on my 6.0's and have been stranded twice, one other time one of them died at my shop, 3 tranny's, injectors, turbo, STC fitting, ICP, EGR, etc ad nauseum. I like my '05, but would love it with a 7.3.

I have a fleet discount(through work) so my O.C. run $40 (delo 400 15W-40)and I change it depending on driving conditions. I.E. when towing alot 3000 miles. when just driving around seeing my customers 6000 miles. I have had Blackstone reports run and everything seems to be o.k.
BTW did I mention that I am still on my original tranny, and TC.

That's pretty amazing from what I hear the auto tranny is the ONLY weak link in the 99-03 SD.

My '03 F250 7.3L is a pretty basic truck. I don't have power seats, leather, or a lot of the other upgrades. It's a work truck that doubles as a 5er hauler. It's also pretty stock, with just gauges, AIS and the Zoo Dad mod. I've put all 123,500 miles on it.
I also have a '93 Dodge D250 CTD. It's my old rattler, and I wouldn't trade either one for anything except a brand new F250 PSD. I'll drive them both 'till the wheels fall off.
Great trucks both.

I have both engines and workon/have driven over a hundred of each..Plus the new 6.4's

I am going to get slammed for this..My 6L 2WD is a great truck, its quick with OEM programming and still gets 19mpg.

My 7.3 2WD is a terror 14 sec street truck and still returns 18+mpg..Have been beat by one Duraturd, Beat many a Cummins.

The 6L is nice because of the high end power and the unbeatable torqshift. Its always in the right gear at the right time.

The 7.3 is a little rough torque monster from hell..Not as refined as the 6L. but a torque monster.

I love both trucks. The 7.3 is not going to break you money wise, parts are alot cheaper then the 6L. Although the first time you step in a 7.3 the power is going to be disappointing.

I look forward to the day, my 6L is out of waranty, so I can do the headgaskets and studs, then I will triple stack the programmers. and 13's here I come..

Have I mentioned?? I like both trucks...
