Brake booster hose

My 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9L 4x4 has had the brake booster hose broken a few times and I have replaced it and now the end of the hose that goes into the booster has broke. Before I think that the booster had went out because when you hit the brakes it would make a loud ''shhhhh'' soud. If I would just take off the end that goes into the booster and take a bolt and stick it down there and clamp it like that will it hurt anything. With the hose just hanging out it will make the truck idle higher but when I put my finger on the end of it it idles down to where it should be. This truck isnt my daily driver so if it doesnt have the power brakes working it doesnt really matter. Also it has a big leak in the brake system so it wont hold fluid. I dont really want to spend any money on this truck, so if just plugging the hose wont hurt the motor or anything else on the truck that is how I would like to do it.
Thanks

Plugging the hose won't ruin anything else. Just be careful with the brakes.
