There have been a couple of members that have swapped their older style trailer tow mirror for the newer 2008+ version. If you do a bit of searching--especially here in the Super Duty forum--I am sure you will find at least a few of those previous threads.
I'm one that did the 2008 mirrors. The viewing area is incredible compared to the older size. The 99-07's are all the same, except some are power, some are not, some heated, and some have marker/turn signal lights. They all will bolt up.
All of them bolt up the same. You can buy non power telescope/fold mirrors that DO have power adjustment and heat and turn/markers for about $400.00. If you have power mirrors already, the wiring is pretty easy. I did a write up on the wiring colors ..
Hey TNT, I'm interested in putting those same mirrors on my '01 F250, it already had the power mirrors with the manual extension. Were you able to wire in the power extension portion as well as the power to the lower mirrors? I'd be real interested in seeing how you wired it. And where did you get a good deal on those mirrors.
Now just need to know if an '08 step assist tail gate will go on my '01.
