System Question

I'm looking to put a speaker system in my truck, the stock one just isn't doing it for me. I'm looking to get something that will really make my truck shake. What all do I need for a system? I used to know what, but I forget. I'm looking to buy the stuff off the internet, and I need to know what to look for. Thanks.

What is your budget. Do you just want new door speakers, or are you planing on using a sub?

I'd say my budget is around $200. I'm getting a $500 check sometime in the near future, but I don't want to spend it all on this. I guess that's party of the question I asked, what do I want? I'm trying to think about what my brother did. I'm pretty sure he's using subs, so yeah, probably that.

It's a 2002 Ford F150 Extended Cab Lariat. I know the Lariat part probably doesn't matter, but it's leather interior, man. Ha.

200 should get you a nice set of speakers for the front. I don't think you would want a sub and amp for 200. Unless of course your getting it from some you know and trust.

I can probably go up more, even up to $500, but something I was thinking about is where would there be enough room in an extended cab to put this stuff?

The sub and box could go under one side of the seat and the amp on the other.

Or. You could get a good set of replacement speakers for the doors that are known to have decient bass, and give them a little amp (Don't forget to use plenty of Dynamat). I have heard good things about these.

If you are on a budget, I would go with the second option. You will have good all around sound, and you could always add a subwofer later.

Thanks for the links, man. I really like that box, but for some reason my CD Changer is under the back seat on the right. I bought it used and there was a few little custom things done to it like that and there was no ash trays (no complaints here). So I don't know where I'd put the amp. There's also like a little tool compartment on the left side of the truck. I'll check it out tomorrow to see if there'd be any room, but I don't know.

Could you put the amp under the drivers or passenger front seat? Some people put it behind the rear seat.

If i remember correctly clarion or jbl makes or made a sub amp combo that hit pretty good. It was a shallow mount with a internal amp for around three hundred. Buddy of mine put it under his GF,s front seat in a ranger.
