Painless Striker I power module

I bought an F250 (7.3 engine) that has a Painless Striker I power module on it.
I would like to take it off and leave it off. I have the manual and feel certain that I can remove the module and put everything back the way it was before the module was installed. My question is, is there anything else I need to do to make sure that the computer on the truck is ok, like reset it somehow or something. I think I read or heard from somewhere that the batteries on the truck need to be disconnected so that the computer gets reset or something like that. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't believe the Striker is a flash module, so unplugging it will do. Reseting the PCM, will erase any coding or info left behind by the striker, so it isn't a bad idea.

Not at all, just remember the trans learns to shift to your driving habits, so it may feel a little different for the first 20 or so miles after resetting.
