Well I'm new to this board but not new to Fords. For some reason I have always been a Ford fan. I currently own a 90 Mustang GT and an 88 Bronco II (had since I was 16). Well as of yesterday I am a proud new owner of a 1960 Ford F100. Talk about being build ford tough. This thing is a beast. I can't wait to piddle with my new project. I will get some pictures if you guys are picture guys on this forum.
After scoping around on the board awhile I realized just how sweet this truck can look. Now I am super excited to start on this thing.
I love the rat rod low and mean look these trucks can have. I read a couple of post refering to mono suspension drops. Could anyone explain this including approximate cost?
There are quite a few members here with "orphan years" trucks and it seems like there has been a few discussions about lowering them and running mono leafs on them. A search of the forum should give you interesting reading

Well, as a matter of fact, we love pictures so get on it and welcome to the site.
Take as many before and after pics to build your gallery so we can enjoy the progress.

'ello old boy, welcome to the Forum & Glad to have another "Orphan Years", ('57-'60) truck owner out & about.
The 'Ford Tough' ethos is one of the reasons the Olde Girl was pleased that I started calling her the "Wee Beastie".
As for 'Slammin' them to the ground', don't care for it myself. These are trucks & when one starts doing that, things can get Scaped off or have Holes punched into critical components & one can become stranded where you don't wish to, if one isn't carefull.
Oh, & by-the-by, 'Rat Rod' is wholey a New Phrasology born out of the 'Gothe/Retro '50s movement' that popped a tick ago, as Back in the Day they were just called 'Hot Rods' & they look the same now as they did then, Primered Rust Buckets to Trailer Queens.

First of all the truck looks great (well, its a little ugly under the hood). You lucked out and got one with a chroe grill....cool
As far as the lowering....I don't like it. Maybe if you give it a little rake, nothing drastic, just a few degrees is all so that the rear is an inch or two higher than the front.
You're not planning on supper huge wheels with those low profile tires are you? Of course this is just my opinion but I think they look silly.
Good luck with the truck, it should be a fun project
