Okay, don't everyone holler stupid at once but I have a question. I recently purchased a used Edelbrock Carburetor. It's the 1405 600 CFM model w/ manual choke. I am wanting to put it on my '75 Ford F150 P/U. I have a 390 motor w/ manual transmission. I need an adapter for the throttle hookup. I know they make one but the one I saw on the Edelbrock website said it was for an automatic transmission. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for and where I might find it? Thanks in advance.
It sounds like you need a throttle cable plate, rather than the throttle lever adapter. The level adapter is for the kickdown, the plate is for your cable. Unfortunately my Summit catalog does not list a part for a 390. You might have to make your own.
First: the adapter for the automatic transmission is for the kickdown.
As far as throttle lever; do you have a throttle cable or lever attatched to your pedal? If it's a lever w/ adjustable linkage you probably just need a screw in ball stud. If it is a cable you need pivot stud w/ a hole to feed the cable thru much like a manual choke control. Any performance parts place will carry these items.
