I have all parts to do the swap but have not takled it yet.
I am taking out a 240 3 speed and putting in 1983 5.0 h.o. out of a mustang.
What are you swaping out fe or 6 banger?
Before i do the swap i am going to deal with some hidden rust first, this is why i haven't done the swap yet.
What kind of info do you need?
All you'll really need should be new cross members maybe a rear end just for safety. But if you got the money go for the larger 5.8, it's a tad bit stronger and is easy and cheap to find(mid 80's f 150 work trucks). If you have trouble finding the cross members try LMC trucks.
As far as physically installing the 5.0, it's not much of a problem. The 302 was available in the dentside trucks, so the engine perches for a 302 from a later truck can be used. The 302/5.0 should bolt right in to the FE/I-6 perches, but will sit about an inch higher than with the 302 perches which could affect driveline angles.
If you plan to use an EFI 5.0 you can get an aftermarket wiring harness. Here's some info on the harness:
Fitting it is only a small part of a conversion like that. You need to acquire a good understanding the differences between carb. and fuel injection and all of the sensors and other electric components that are required to run the system.
The dentsides have very little electrical dependency to run the truck past firing the spark. The HO was very dependent. IMHO

what he said.
A painless harness ( 60510) would make this a lot easier. Basically plug & play, however, you do need to upgrade the charging system, and the fuel system. All pretty much basic stuff.
Remember, on an injected application, grounds are our friends.
