Roll-on Bed Liner for Trailer deck?

Car Trailer refinishing with paint or roll on bed liner?
I posted in the trailer section as well:
I have an all steel open car hauler. It needs some cleaning up and painting. I have been driving myself nuts looking at rust converters and roll-on bed liners?
Anybody ever coat the runways and fenders of a steel trailer with a DYI bed liner. My concerns are spilling gas and hot sticky race tires on the liner. Sound like a good idea or not?
I am leaning towards just using a roll on Rustoleum paint.
